DOTr approves jeepney fare hikes effective Monday (Sept. 28)

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has approved fare increases for public utility vehicles (PUVs), with the new rates taking effect on Monday, Sept. 28. Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez approved the recommendation of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to lift the suspension of the fare increase, which was imposed in March 2026.
